Gas and energy sale agreements to industrial customers allow the price to be revised at regular intervals (usually every three years). However, renegotiation processes are very long and frequently lead to arbitrations with an uncertain outcome. The cost of revising the price (higher purchase price or lower selling price) is allocated to a specific fund in the balance sheet. These are taxed funds for which a structural issue of corporate taxation is of great relevance.[Abstract appeared in the Journal]
