The AA. analyze, in this short essay, the alarming social phenomenon of violence against health professionals, pointing out its continuously increasing trend even in the face of partial and certainly incomplete statistical indicators. They then analyze the repressive measures adopted by Italy to contain the phenomenon before focusing on the preventive risk containment actions that can and must be implemented because the former, by themselves, while being useful for containing the anxiety of health professionals, I'm certainly not able to stem the phenomenon. To discuss, finally, what role it plays in the chain of preventative responsibility. must be responsibly exercised by the Director of complex structure to whom the rule entrusts precise duties also with regard to safety in the workplace.[Abstract appeared in the Journal]
